Noted for his pioneering use of the Mellotron on the \u201cClassic Seven\u201d albums by the Moody Blues, Mike recorded a solo album, \u201cThe Promise\u201d, (released in 1976) before departing the Moody Blues during sessions for the \u201cOctave\u201d album.
