I was listening to the Jays do their BBC interview tonight, and the DJ played a few songs prior............ heard one I hadn't heard for a long time, and I had never paid attention to the lyrics. Anyway I suddenly heard the words, was knocked out and now I have to go find the youtube so I can get the music cheap and free. No wonder I liked it, it was ELO!

I love that photo, it looks like Dorothy has hair on her legs.

"Can't Get It Out of My Head"

Written by Jeff Lynn for the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)

Midnight on the water.
I saw the ocean's daughter.
Walking on a waves she came
staring as she called my name.

And I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head.

Breakdown on the shoreline,
can't move, it's an ebbtide.
Morning don't get here till night,
searching for her silver light.

And I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
No, my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

Bank job in the city.
Robin Hood and William Tell and Ivanhoe and Lancelot, they don't envy me.
Sitting till the sun goes down,
in dreams the world keep going round and round.

And I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

Sounds sorta like The Prisoner too.......... they just aired the remake tonight.

Mexican Trip Album (1967)

yay!!! (Since the LP player doesn't seem to work anymore, that is)

Oh, greetings everyone. Smile

BTW: You're most welcome Luna, and thank you too. Cool

I've been listening to a couple of favorite tracks off this one today:

--Cielito Lindo this rendition will always be the best to me - reminds me of the sultry summer nights I used to spend dancing to it, way back when...always did like the cricket backdrop sound)

--"Puerto De Manzanillo" - just plain latin-lovely - what can I say?

Okay--I'm off in search of a particular CD now...

(Ah Yaz, it's good to be back in Pinderland-hope all is doing alright at this time...I've been on a "trip" alright enough...aye, aye, aye Mr. Green I was informed a month or so back that I'd {see} him-all I had to do was want to and the woman who told me guaranteed that he would meet me halfway and well, the rest is "history" - more on that later, perhaps, though but I will say this: she pointed out that our communication had always been on the "subliminal" level-which I have found to be true with the progression of the "uncovering/remembering" process, but I thought I was the only one here and now that KNEW that for myself... Shocked - some peeps do prove themselves to be authentic, I'll give her that)

anyhoo, in the meantime: a good night kiss to all, and to all a good night/day

{{{swak!}}} Very Happy

"L"

Roger Daltrey STILL looking in great repair Very Happy but I am very pleased to see Pete Townshend in great form-the rock of all "today music" geniuses IMHO, no one goes before him. The man's a giant! Cool The "Birdman" guitar stroking is still in high flight!

Oh I dunno, I thought the Who was ok at the Halftime show. Could have been better. I walked past a bar tonight (on other business) and heard a very nice guitarist, just him and his guitar, plugging away. He was better than the Who. All a matter of perspective and taste.

Alabama is hot this time of year............. whereabouts? My ancestors lived there before Columbus got off the boat! Good luck gal!

I'm hoping you told him so Very Happy Laughing imagine his delight Wink

Yes it is-more so than other places--but I'm so dern glad to be out of Illinois right now and feeling a little heat penetration down in my bone marrows-actually feels quite good to my achy limbs-I was still wearing a sweater yesterday Question <southern bells are hell aren't we?> but I spent the night at Comfort Suites (my favorite place to stay when traveling-this one in Pelham is esp nice-talk about having a nice big bed to sink-n-disappear into-ahhhhhhh with a real cook in a real kitchen at Breakfast time Cool Easy on the wallet too-I highly recommend

Yes, sure to be a lot of ancestors here-lots of Indians/Indian names abounding in the United States of AL-I'll be working up around here on an installation again-drop by if you're in the area again (I think I'm ready to settle on staying in one place for a good while and put aside my nomad ways...)

I'm on the road again for just a couple more hours in a few...take care all Smile

Yep, a lot of those place names in Alabama are indeed in the Muskogee language. Chattahochee is pronounced "shatta-hoo-shee" you can mess people up with the Ch if you wish........

anyway the name means "star shaped stones" and if you get lucky, you can find what are apparently fossilized sand dollars in the river! My ancestors used that river as a "main highway" apparently.

you settle and light, gal! All that roaming is not cool. Having said that, I love to travel too. I think next vacation I'm going to travel with NO schedule, it's the "gotta be here at a certain time" stuff that gets to me!

Very interesting-didn't know that! Smile There's a lot to do and see nature wise up here ("so much to scope out," as Anne Of Green Gables quipped Wink ) Oh yeah...I think I'm going to run myself ragged doing all that instead of travelling so much! (somebody, take the steering wheel away from me now! Laughing )
